INTERNATIONAL PHD COURSE

General information on the PhD programme

The observed landscapes derive from a complex interaction of many factors acting at different spatial and temporal scales. For this reason only an inter-disciplinar approach that goes across the traditional sciences boundaries will be able to improve the actual understanding of landscape problems, to offer their possible solutions and, to address sustainable management practices.
The training research program here proposed is aimed to form young scientists on landscape multidisciplinar researches, and is supported by a pool of high qualified researchers and teachers of the following six Universities: University of Molise-Italy, University “La Sapienza” Roma -Italy, University of Tuscia -Italy, the University of Zadar-Croatia, the National University of Cordoba -Argentina and University of Sarajevo -Bosnia-Erzegovina.
The contents of the proposed training program can be tailored to match the interests on landscape and environmental issues of students coming from a wide variety of backgrounds, including areas as biology, ecology, environmental and natural sciences, zoology, forestry, agricultural sciences, wildlife, geology, soil science, microbiology, mathematics, physics, informatics, civil engineering, economy, chemistry, architecture, landscape and urban planning.
The PhD research-training program will involve different environmental topics, including the abiotic, biotic and historic components, the anthropogenic control and management and their relation with social and economic issues . The PhD program is organized in two curricula:
