Research interest Taxonomic study of the genus Quercus, through the integration of geometric morphometric analysis, analysis of micro and macromorphological characters and molecular DNA analysis. The set of data collected are analysed using classical and probabilistic statistical approach.
Study of dynamics vegetation, and relations between physical environment and plant communities; characterization (according to the Zurich-Montpellier school) of plant communities and large south-central Italy landscape units.
Study of wild plants of ethnobotanical interest with particular attention to those used in folk medicine in the central Apennines in the National Park of Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise.

Scientific coordinator of the guided visits and workshop activities at the Museum Herbarium of Molise (Department of Biosciences and Territory – Pesche, Isernia).
