LATE is a laboratory of socio-economic research of the Department of Biosciences and Territory of the University of Molise. LATE research activities focus on the relationships between urban and rural areas with a place-based approach. Our fields of interest consider the changing of agricultural landscape, food planning, the relationship between communities and territories, the role of agriculture in strengthening resilience of socio-ecological systems (ESS), the interrelationships between environment and human activities according to a socio-ecological perspective and a coevolutive approach.

The main research questions of LATE working group are:

What is the relationship between the large urban areas – physical and social – the agri-environmental systems within which they are placed?

How did evolving relationships among the city and the countryside?

As these reports change the role of agricultural activities near or within urban areas and their food systems?

How changes in new geographies of food invest local agrifood systems?

Which public policies and planning for which territories?
