Il campo di ricerca principale di Gautam Di Pendra è l'analisi della fragilità sismica degli edifici RC in Nepal.
Oltre al suo principale tema di ricerca, lui lavora su analisi di affidabilità, dinamiche strutturali, effetti multi-rischi su strutture e linee vita, ingegneria strutturale sostenibile, identificazione dinamica di costruzioni incrementali, evoluzione di caratteristiche dinamiche, patrimonio e costruzioni monumentali, tra gli altri.
